The BYU men’s basketball team will have to continue to wait for its West Coast Conference opener.
The Cougars’ matchup with Pacific scheduled for this Thursday was postponed due to COVID-19 related protocols within the Tigers’ program. It’s the third straight WCC game for BYU that has been postponed — including games at Pepperdine and San Diego last week — after the Cougars made it through non-conference play without a game being called off.
BYU’s next scheduled game is now at Saint Mary’s on Jan. 14.
Weber State, which had two games canceled against Big Sky opponent Idaho State because of COVID-19 before scheduling an impromptu matchup with UVU last Saturday, also had games this week canceled because of COVID-19-related issues.
The Wildcats were scheduled to play Eastern Washington at home on Thursday and Saturday, but because of ongoing COVID-19 issues in the Eagles’ program, those games are off.
As of right now, all Big Sky Conference games that are canceled will not be rescheduled.
Weber State’s next scheduled game is Jan. 21 against Southern Utah at the Dee Events Center.
