Utah Jazz All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell has become openly vocal concerning racial justice and educational opportunity, and on Monday, he was featured in a short video produced by ESPN alongside seven other NBA players reflecting on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the holiday that celebrates him.

In the video, which was 85 seconds long, a short snippet of Mitchell talking about education inequality was featured.

“There’s just a difference in education,” Mitchell is quoted as saying. “There’s just inequality in all fronts in this world, but education’s a big piece.”

The son of a teacher, Mitchell has already participated in numerous education-related projects in his young NBA career (pictures of him giving $25,000 to a childhood friend for tuition in 2019 were shown in Monday’s video).

Anthony Davis, CJ McCollum, Harrison Barnes, LeBron James, Bradley Beal, Malcolm Brogdon and Trae Young were also featured in the video.
