Reports: BYU offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes leaving for same role at Baylor

Jeff Grimes is reportedly leaving BYU for a spot in the Big 12.

Multiple outlets reported that the Cougars’ offensive coordinator for the past three seasons has accepted the same position at Baylor.

Yahoo’s Pete Thamel was first to report the news on Monday morning.

Hired by BYU to replace Ty Detmer as offensive coordinator after the 2017 season after being the offensive line coach at LSU, Grimes has been a popular name over the past few weeks as a potential head coach or offensive coordinator at a bigger school after he guided one of the best offenses in the country in 2020.

The Cougars are fourth in the country in points per game, seventh in total yards per game and eighth in passing yards per game.
