Having upset Colorado 77-74 in Boulder on Saturday, Utah returns home to host Arizona on Thursday at the Huntsman Center

Utah only played one game last week, but senior guard Alfonso Plummer’s spectacular second half against Colorado on Saturday was enough to earn him Pac-12 Player of the Week honors.

Plummer scored 21 of his game-high 23 points in the final seven minutes, 49 seconds as Utah overcame a 19-point deficit in the final nine minutes and defeated Colorado 77-74 at CU Events Center in Boulder, Colorado.

It is the first time this season a Utah player has won the weekly award, and first time Plummer has won the award in his two-year Utah career.

Plummer, from Fajardo, Puerto Rico, was 8 of 13 from the field and 4 of 6 from 3-point range, while scoring all 23 of his points in the second half. It was Utah’s first win at Colorado since 2017.

“I was just feeling it. I just came out ready. I didn’t quit, didn’t put my head down,” Plummer said. “I was just ready to help my team.”

Plummer has averaged 14.4 points in Utah’s last five games.

With the Utes’ Pac-12 schedule at its midpoint, Plummer is averaging 13.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. He is shooting 46% from the field and 37% from 3-point range.

Utah (7-7, 4-6 Pac-12) is at home this week for two games, facing Arizona Thursday and Arizona State Sunday. The Arizona game tips off at 5 p.m. MST and will be televised by Fox Sports 1.
