After the Utah Jazz beat the Milwaukee Bucks 129-115 on Friday night for their 17th win in their last 18 games, they received some high compliments from the two-time reigning NBA MVP.
In his postgame Zoom press conference, Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo said the Jazz are “the best team in the West” and later said they’re “fun” to watch play.
Antetokounmpo had just 12 points through three quarters, and although he finished with 29, nine came with less than four minutes to play when the game was all but decided.
“It’s not something to be upset about,” he said of the loss, “...especially if you play the best team in the West.”
Antetokounmpo then praised the Jazz’s offense.
“They’re moving the ball. They are finding, they’re playing for one another. Everybody knows their role. Whatever they do, they’re doing hard. They screen. They roll hard. You know what I’m saying?
“The person at the top of the key gets the ball, he goes for a handoff hard. The guy that sets the back pick to start the play, he does it hard. The guy that throws to the corner, they know their role. They’ve been together. It just looks fun. Like, when I watch them play, it looks fun. It looks easy. It looks simple.”
Antetokounmpo compared Utah to his own team from a year ago. The Bucks finished the 2019-2020 campaign with an NBA-best 56-17 record.
“When you’re in that point and you’re playing with that confidence, you’re hard to beat for sure,” he said.
