Utah’s Super Bowl Sunday men’s basketball matchup with ASU postponed due to COVID-19 issues within Sun Devils’ program

Utes play host to Arizona on Thursday, will then have a potential one-week break before playing at Cal on Feb. 11

Another Utah-Arizona State men’s basketball game has been postponed.

Super Bowl Sunday’s matchup between the Utes and Sun Devils at the Huntsman Center was called off Tuesday night due to COVID-19 issues within the ASU men’s basketball program.

Both teams will work with the Pac-12 to find a mutually agreeable date to reschedule the contest.

Coincidentally, the Utes were supposed to be playing the Sun Devils in Tempe Tuesday night when the latest game was postponed, but that matchup — a makeup game from a Dec. 22 postponement — was postponed last weekend.

The Utes (7-7, 4-6 Pac-12) will play host to Arizona on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Huntsman Center, then have a long break before playing four straight road games, barring more postponements.

Utah has played 10 of its hoped-for 20 conference games this season.
