BYU forward Wyatt Lowell wants to explore his options.
The sophomore out of Gilbert, Arizona, announced on Instagram on Tuesday that he is entering the NCAA’s transfer portal.
“Grateful for the past and excited for the future,” Lowell wrote on Instagram. “I have decided to put my name into the transfer portal and see what opportunities lie ahead! And thank you to cougar nation for the love and support!”
The 6-foot-10 Lowell was a four-star recruit out of high school and transferred to BYU from Utah Valley after his freshman season, when he was the 2018-19 WAC Freshman of the Year. He sat out the 2019-20 season due to transfer rules and played just seven games this season, due to a variety of injuries. He averaged 6.6 minutes, 2.0 points and 1.1 rebounds in limited action.
Lowell becomes the third Cougar to enter the transfer portal, joining guards Jesse Wade and Connor Harding.
