All of Utah’s electoral votes usually go to the Republican candidate. I live in the 4th Congressional District where there are as many Democrats as Republicans. It would be fairer to Democrats in the 4th district if Utah followed Maine and Nebraska’s example and split the states’ electoral votes.
Maine and Nebraska assign two votes to the winner of the state’s popular vote. These two votes equal the number of senators the state has. The other electoral votes are given to the winner of the popular vote in each separate U.S. House of Representatives district.
