The Utah football program ended up on the wrong side of the recruiting game Monday.
Back on Feb. 25, Alabama linebacker Brandon “Ale” Kaho announced that he was transferring to Utah, but in recent days, rumors started to swirl that he would be heading elsewhere instead. On Monday evening, he announced via Twitter that he will instead go to UCLA.

From Reno, Nevada, Kaho first committed to BYU while in high school, but then saw his stock rise and he ended up signing with Washington. Just a short time after he arrived, however, he asked out of his Letter of Intent, and he ended up at Alabama.
In three seasons with the Crimson Tide, the 6-foot-1, 235-pound Kaho played mostly on special teams and tallied 32 tackles (14 solo, 18 assisted) and scored a touchdown in 2019 on a punt he blocked.
Kaho had announced on Feb. 19 that he was entering the transfer portal before committing to Utah six days later.
