The ‘Mambacita’ line honored Gianna Bryant, the late daughter of Vanessa and Kobe Bryant

The new “Mambacita” apparel line — which comes from the late Gianna Bryant — has already sold out after its release on Saturday, per CNN.

• The new apparel line was released by Kobe Bryant’s estate team and Vanessa Bryant as a way to honor Gianna Bryant, who died in a tragic helicopter crash with her father, Kobe Bryant, in January 2020.
• Gianna Bryant’s nickname was “Mambacita” because it was a nod to her father, who was nicknamed “Black Mamba.”

Vanessa Bryant shared a teaser for the apparel line on Instagram, showing off sweatpants and sweatshirts with a tie-dye design.

NBA players, like Steph Curry, support Gianna Bryant

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry wore a “Mambacita” outfit to his game on Sunday. According to People magazine, Curry said the Warriors wore the outfits to honor Gianna.

• “It’s tough because it’s obviously a reminder of what happened but it’s also a celebration of Gianna’s life and what the game of basketball meant to her and carrying that legacy on in her honor,” Curry said. “I was honored and I know the whole team was to be a part of celebrating her. The foundation’s going to do some amazing work in her honor.”

The release of the “Mambacita” material comes weeks after the Bryant estate ended its deal with Nike, according to The New York Times.
