Waffle Love had its ‘worst professional moment’ on Food Network. Is the Utah food truck out of the competition?

Waffle Love made a costly error on the most recent episode of ‘The Great Food Truck Race: All Stars’

Waffle Love made a costly error on the most recent episode of “The Great Food Truck Race: All Stars” — a mistake the food truck’s founder, Adam Terry, described as his “worst professional moment.”

While en route to set up for a busy day of selling in San Francisco, brothers Adam, Steve and Jared Terry had an unsettling realization: They had forgotten to load up their food truck. The groceries were back at the competition’s home base in Oakland.

That mistake cost them hours of selling time — a major blow in a competition that is driven by sales.

“It would take a miracle to not get sent home,” Steve Terry said during the episode, which aired Sunday on Food Network.

In a nutshell, they got a miracle.

For the third week in a row, the Utah-born food truck finished in the bottom two. Waffle Love also has yet to win one of the many food and sales challenges that can help teams gain an edge in the competition.

But against all of those odds, Waffle Love has survived the competition and is now one of three remaining food trucks vying for the $50,000 prize.

After two days of selling, the Terrys were visibly surprised when “Great Food Truck Race” host Tyler Florence announced they had beaten out Aloha Plate, a food truck that dominated in earlier episodes. But during this round, Aloha Plate had struggled to find a good selling location, and only made $1,296 over a two-day period.

Waffle Love, meanwhile, made just over $2,000.

It was enough to keep them afloat for another episode. But they’ll likely have to step it up for the next round — the top two food trucks, Lime Truck and Seoul Sausage, each earned well over $4,000.

“Do not make another mistake, Waffle Love,” Florence told the Terrys at the end of the episode.

“No, sir,” Adam Terry responded.

Note: You can catch Waffle Love on the next episode of “The Great Food Truck Race: All Stars,” which airs Sunday at 10 p.m. MDT on Food Network. The show — which is also on the Discovery+ streaming platform — airs on Sundays through July 18.
