Skinner has joined the post-Olympics Gold Over America Tour, an athletic showcase that will take her and other elite gymnasts to 35 different cities

MyKayla Skinner is going to retire from gymnastics after the Olympics, but not before she tours the country.

The former star University of Utah gymnast and 2021 U.S. Olympian has officially joined the Gold Over America Tour. Presented by Athleta, the tour is an athletic showcase featuring Simone Biles and other elite gymnasts, and will make stops in 35 cities.

Advertised as a “celebration of powerful female athletes who, together, are a united force proudly representing the sport of women’s gymnastics and inspiring the next generation of female athletes,” the tour currently includes Biles, Skinner and fellow 2021 Olympian Jordan Chiles, as well as 2016 Olympian Laurie Hernandez, former UCLA stars Katelyn Ohashi, Peng Peng Lee and Danusia Francis and former world champion/future Florida Gator Morgan Hurd, with more gymnasts to be named later.

“So... your girl is gonna be on the Athleta Presents Gold Over America Tour!!!!” Skinner wrote on Twitter. “I’m excited to share this amazing tour with our team of strong women and inspire the next generation of athletes.”

The tour will begin Sept. 21 in Tucson, Arizona, before moving to cities like Los Angeles (Sept. 25), San Francisco (Sept. 28), Boise (Oct. 1) and West Valley City (Oct. 2).

The complete schedule, along with ticket information, is currently available.

Skinner will, of course, first be competing in the Olympics as one of six American gymnasts, along with Biles, Chiles, Sunisa Lee, Grace McCallum and Jade Carey. An individual competitor, Skinner will begin competition on July 25, and hope to qualify for the all-around final and any or all event finals.

Skinner recently announced she will be retiring from competitive gymnastics after the Olympic Games, while simultaneously going pro. She is planning on returning to the University to Utah to finish her undergraduate degree.
