Rice-Eccles Stadium is renovated and looking ready for a season opener.
The Utah Utes and Weber State Wildcats will give the stadium its first audience, as the teams kick off the season today at 5:30 p.m. MDT. The game will be televised on Pac-12 Network.
The Utes are hoping to get off to a strong start with a team that looks like it could contend for a Rose Bowl berth. The Wildcats, meanwhile, are looking to make a strong impression against an FBS opponent before settling in to FCS play.

Game in weather delay
The Utes and Wildcats are in a lightning delay with 8:26 to go in the first quarter after a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Weber State’s Rashid Shaheed. Utah struck first with a 24-yard field goal from Jadon Redding.
