According to a report from Jeff Howe of The Athletic, New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson suffered a groin injury in the Jets’ Week 1 loss to the Carolina Panthers.
Wilson played with the injury last Sunday in a 25-6 loss to the New England Patriots and got an MRI on it to “ensure there was no further damage.” Howe reported that Wilson is not expected to miss any time with the injury, though he notes that the injury “could potentially require maintenance throughout the season”.
Wilson was listed on the Jets’ injury report, with the groin injury, as a full participant in the Jets’ practice. He is not expected to miss any games with the injury.
In his first two regular-season NFL games, Wilson is 39-of-70 for 468 yards. He has thrown two touchdowns, but also five interceptions — including four against the Patriots —and has been sacked 10 times.
Wilson and the Jets (0-2) play the undefeated Denver Broncos (2-0) on Sunday at 2:25 p.m. MT. The game will be broadcast on CBS in Utah.
