Region 1
Fremont 21, Syracuse 17
Bodee Goins found David Calvert from 21 yards out for the game-winning touchdown pass with four minutes left in the game. Goins threw two touchdowns for Fremont.
“Another hard fought down to the wire region 1 football game tonight. Our kids played their butts off and overcame some adversity to pick up a much needed win after losing a couple of close games. Players make plays, and tonight we had multiple guys step up to make plays. Great team win.”

Layton 35, Clearfield 0
Layton’s defense held strong, blanking Clearfield. Garrett Gilford threw three touchdowns, including two to Nicolas Sanders. Sanders also had a 99-yard kickoff return touchdown as he finished the game with five catches for 234 yards. Elias West finished with 20 carries for 108 yards and another score for the Lancers.
Region 2
Kearns 62, Granger 32
Iosefa Toia’ivao completed 26 of 32 passes for 341 yards and seven touchdowns, with Isaac Luckart hauling in 14 receptions for 202 yards and three of those touchdowns as Kearns scored at least two touchdowns in every quarter on its way to the comfortable win over Granger.

Roy 31, Cyprus 20
Parker Kingston ran for three touchdowns, including one late in the fourth quarter as Roy overcame a surprisingly deficit to Cyprus early in the third quarter to pull away for the win.

Hunter 43, Taylorsville 10
Omarian Jackson had three touchdown runs, including a 75-yard run, as Hunter beat Taylorsville in convincing fashion
Region 3
Bingham 56, Copper Hills 0
Bingham overwhelmed Copper Hills in the first quarter five touchdowns on its way to the easy region victory. Dallen Martinez led the way for the Miners as he passed for two touchdowns and rushed for another in that first quarter. Cody Lazenby added a pair of rushing TDs in the first half for Bingham as well.
Mountain Ridge 32, West Jordan 26
Brody Laga nailed a 54-yard field goal with 21 seconds left to force overtime and then in overtime Ayden Helm scored on a 9-yard TD run as Mountain Ridge handed West Jordan its first loss of the season in a back-and-forth region game. West Jordan trailed 23-13 heading into the fourth quarter but scored a pair of touchdowns to take the lead before Laga’s late heroics.
Riverton 28, Herriman 9
Sau Tafisi scored twice for Riverton in the fourth quarter to pull away from Herriman for the region win. Carson Grundy’s TD run for Herriman late in the third quarter cut Riverton’s lead to 14-9, but Barton and Tafisi marched into the end zone in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
“Great team win tonight. Had a lot of players step up and make plays. Sau Tafisi was consistent and was the driving force to getting our offense going. Colby Barton came in during a big situation and found the end zone. Defensively our corners Ruben Otuafi and Lincoln Whiting played tough all night and Wyatt Brown played physical against the run with a fumble recovery. Great team victory against a tough region opponent and we will have to clean up some mistakes as we take on Mountain Ridge.”

Region 4
American Fork 41, Pleasant Grove 14
American Fork overcame a slow start to eventually roll past Pleasant Grove for the region victory. Maddux Madsen tossed three touchdowns in the win, including two to Peyton Rees, while defensively both Spencer Clegg and Davis Andrews both returned interceptions for touchdowns.
Skyridge 14, Lone Peak 9
Skyridge’s 14 second-quarter points were enough to defeat Lone Peak. Dalton Young provided the highlight of the night with a 22-yard interception return for a touchdown.
“We played really physical and just stayed with it. I was really happy with a couple of our red zone possessions and the way we just dug in and fought. Obviously, the takeaway for the score at the very beginning of the half was a major point for us in the game. I’m just happy with the win, with the way we stick together and fight.”

Corner Canyon 56, Westlake 0
Devin Brown passed for for five touchdowns, including two to Blaze DeGracie and Cody Hagen as Corner Canyon tied the state record with its 48th straight victory in easy fashion. Defensively Luke Henstrom and Harrison Taggart both returned interceptions for touchdowns as the Chargers recorded their first shutout of the season.

Region 5
Box Elder 18, Woods Cross 12
Daxton Sumko scored both of Box Elder’s touchdowns as it edged Woods Cross in a Region 5 defensive grudge match. Woods Cross scored its last touchdown with 57 seconds remaining in the game, but the Bees recovered the onside kick to protect the win.
“I am happy for our players and the effort they gave in preparation and with how our team competed from start to finish tonight. Woods Cross is well coached and is tough to beat at home.”

Bountiful 45, Viewmont 7
Corbin Cottle had a second straight monster game on the ground as he carried the ball 14 times for 219 yards and four touchdowns as Bountiful dominated rival Viewmont for the region victory. Bountiful led comfortably 24-7 at the half and then Cottle put the game away for good with three rushing touchdowns in the third quarter.
Bonneville 49, Northridge 42
Bonneville outlasted Northridge in a wildly-entertaining Region 5 game in Week 8. Koy Dixon led the way by passing for one touchdown and rushing for three more while Kord Shaw added a receiving touchdown and also returned a kick 96 yards for a score early in the game. Maximus Fonoti-Maikui passed for three touchdowns in the loss for the Knights.

Region 6
Brighton 27, Park City 24
Abinadi Bigelow booted a 36-yard field goal with 3:07 remaining in the game as Brighton edged Park City in a very competitive Region 6 game. Park City had tied the game early in the fourth quarter on a 43-yard field goal by Stephen Shagen. Jack Johnson led the way offensively for Brighton as he tossed touchdown passes to both Dante McMaster and Easton Smith.
“Great team win. I thought we executed well in all three units; offense, defense and special teams. Our boys battled against a very tough, physical and well coached Park City team.”

Highland 25, Murray 3
Maea Giles caught a touchdown and ran for a score in Highland’s 25-3 win. The Rams pulled away at the end with a 12-point fourth quarter.
Skyline 20, East 13
Alexander Emery’s 80-yard touchdown pass to Austin Okerwa was the deciding score in Skyline’s win over East. Emery threw two touchdown passes, and Ryan Wiscomb added two field goals.
“East has a fantastic football team and they played hard. I am extremely proud of our team. They played really well and had a lot of fun. I am also so appreciative of our amazing coaches and all the hard work they do every week. It was a great night for our team.”

Region 7
Cedar Valley 38, Uintah 27
Easton Schank passed for four touchdowns to four different receivers while also rushing for a score as the Aviators had to grind out a road win at Uintah.
“Our kids overcame a lot of adversity tonight to pick up a big win. We battled hard, big shout out to our offensive lineman who had to fill in some big spots on the defensive line and lead a great rushing attack for us as well.”

Timpanogos 51, Hillcrest 10
Timpanogos struck early and often, scoring all of its 51 points in the first half, led by Matu Holdaway who had a big day throwing for five touchdowns. Timpanogos has now won seven games for just the third season in school history. It’s never been 7-1.
Tooele 48, Payson 27
Gabe Medina had a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown and also caught a touchdown pass from Payton Sprouse. The Buffaloes rolled over the Lions.
“We started slow and Payson punched us. The kids really took that to the heart at got after it. I’m very happy how we finish and responded after that. It was a big win for the seniors on senior night.”

Stansbury 52, Mountain View 14
Stansbury scored seven touchdowns in their 52-14 win over Mountain View, and all seven came from a different Stallion as the balanced attack worked all night long. Stansbury moves to 5-0 in Region 7 play with the victory.
Region 8
Lehi 49, Alta 14
Lehi poured it on in the third quarter, scoring 35 points in the period as it broke open a close game in the critical region game for both teams. Jackson Brousseau led the way for the Pioneers, passing for five touchdowns.
“Alta is a really great team. They have had great momentum the last several weeks. I just challenged our kids to hit them in the mouth early and establish our kind of play, and I feel like our kids in all three phases of play did that.”

Region 9
Spanish Fork 35, Wasatch 21
Spanish Fork jumped out to a 14-point halftime lead before each team scored three touchdowns in the second half. The Dons were led by Joshua Buck, who first scored on a 71-yard run early in the second quarter. He would add a touchdown from 6 yards out later in the period to give Spanish Fork the early edge.
“We dedicated this game to George Oldham, a seventh grade football player who passed away this spring. Our boys honored him well. Our defense was solid all game and really made it hard on Wasatch. They are a difficult team to prepare for, but our guys were extremely focused and solid in practice all week. I’m proud of our guys.”

Provo 29, Salem Hills 7
Jace Welsch’s 50-yard touchdown run, his second score of the night, was the cherry on top of Provo’s win.
Springville 64, Maple Mountain 17
Springville racked up 605 yards of total offense while holding Maple Mountain to just 129 yards as it absolutely dominated the Golden Eagles for the region win. Seth Rigtrup was a beast on the ground as he carried the ball 16 times for 300 yards and three touchdowns while Tevita Valeti added a pair of rushing TDs of his own. Will Penrod intercepted Maple Mountain on its very first offensive play which set the tone for the entire game.
“The players really stepped up and executed on both sides of the ball. Seth showed you how special he is rushing for 300 yards. And our defense shut down their offense. Porter Small had another great game. I am very proud of the way they executed our game plan and got this big win.”

Region 10
Dixie 42, Snow Canyon 14
Dixie broke open a close game scoring 28 points in the second quarter as it rolled past Snow Canyon for the surprisingly easy region win. Jeffrey Christian rushed for three touchdowns to lead the way offensively, all in the first half, while Shea Anderson returned a kickoff 93 yards in the first quarter which put Dixie up for good.
Desert Hills 47, Hurricane 6
Desert Hills put up 23 points in the first quarter as they beat Hurricane. Tyler Morris and Eric Olsen both scored for the offense on touchdowns of over 20 yards while Izzy Meredith returned and interception for 36 yards and six points. The Thunder defense would add a safety before the end of the period to extend the lead. By the end of the game, six different players had scored a touchdown for the balanced Desert Hills attack.
Crimson Cliffs 28, Pine View 14
Gunner Orr passed for a touchdown and rushed for another and then Isaac Golder scored on a blocked punt in the end zone as Crimson Cliffs earned perhaps its biggest win in a school history in bouncing region favorite Pine View. Neither team scored in the second half as Crimson Cliffs’ defense came up huge to protect the lead.
“We had a great game in all phases of the game tonight. Our players made plays on offense, defense and special teams. After scoring on the opening drive our defense was able to control the tempo of the game. This was a big win for our program.”

Region 11
Green Canyon 49, Logan 10
Caden Stuart returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown and then he later added a receiving touchdown in the second half as he helped lead Green Canyon to the dominating victory over Logan. Jack Stevens had a very efficient game at QB for the Wolves, passing for three touchdowns and rushing for another as Green Canyon pulled away by outscoring Logan 28-0 in the second half.
Sky View 48, Mountain Crest 0
Sky View shut out Mountain Crest in dominating fashion, picking up an important Region 11 win. Reed Wilde scored two rushing touchdowns while Davis Hall caught two for himself. Cole Watterson hauled in a touchdown reception late in the game and immediately followed it up with a pick-six on the other side of the ball to put a statement defensive score into the final margin.
“Really proud of our team tonight. We put together four good quarters of football in all three phases of the game. Our line did a great job on both sides of the ball. We have to continue to get better down the stretch.”

Ridgeline 49, Bear River 7
Kaden Cox threw five touchdowns and Noah White rushed for two more as 4A’s top-ranked team rolled to another easy region win. Jackson Olsen hauled in two of Cox’s TD passes covering 66 and 75 yards.
3A South
Juab 28, Richfield 27
Alex Jackson passed for three touchdowns, but his biggest momentum came with 1:06 remaining in the game as he scored on an 8-yard TD run as Juab survived a big upset bid by visiting Richfield. Juab jumped out quick leading 14-0 after the first quarter, but Richfield outscored the Wasps 27-7 over the next two quarters and 11 minutes until Jackson rescued his team for the win.
North Sanpete 28, Manti 20
Landon Bowles threw three touchdowns and Morgan Bowles caught a touchdown and ran for a score in North Sanpete’s win over Manti.
Canyon View 26, Carbon 15
After a scoreless first quarter, Canyon View found the end zone three times in the second period, including a rushing and receiving touchdown from Adrian Ward. The Falcons would extend their lead in the fourth quarter as they picked up a hard-earned road win.
3A North
Union 35, Ben Lomond 7
Union’s defense only let up one touchdown all night, when Austion Herbert hit Cole Sparrow for a 30-yard touchdown pass with just over 90 seconds to go in the first half. The Cougars would immediately respond with a 91-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, giving them a 14-7 lead going into halftime. Boone Lathem scored three passing touchdowns in the second half in a runaway victory. The game featured six total touchdowns, all of which were over 20 yards in length.
“We were able to withstand a first-half surge by Ben Lomond and in the second half played 1/11th team football. Love these coaches and these players and the way they adjust and grow with every snap.”

Grantsville 21, Morgan 7
Grantsville’s defense came up huge holding Morgan’s explosive offense in check the entire game as the Cowboys picked up a big region win. Blake Thomas led the way offensively for the Cowboys as he rushed for two touchdowns, including one at the 2:43 mark of the fourth quarter to ice the victory.
“Played a very complimentary game tonight. All three phases made plays. Gabe Mouritsen led the defense. Blake Thomas and Caleb Sullivan ran the offense to perfection. The O-line and D-line brought it tonight.”

2A North
Emery 41, Providence Hall 7
Ryker Jensen threw a touchdown pass and also rushed for a score as Emery defeated Providence Hall. Tyler Stilson scored two touchdowns for the Spartans in the win.
South Summit 64, American Leadership 16
Treyton Sargent and Kyler Sudweeks each scored three touchdowns, including two a piece in the second quarter as South Summit’s offense exploded for 35 points to close the half and eventually a dominating win over ALA.
Summit Academy 55, Judge Memorial 0
Devin Watson threw for five touchdown passes, including ones for 46, 55, and 98 yards to lead the Bears to the easy win over Judge. He also hauled in a 10-yard touchdown reception and found the end zone on the ground as he totaled seven total touchdowns in the first half of Summit Academy’s shutout win over Judge Memorial. Defensively Trey Bailey was a force as he recorded six sacks.
2A South
San Juan 43, Delta 34
San Juan entered the fourth quarter up by just a single point, but Jensen Grover’s third touchdown of the game would extend the lead to seven points prior to a missed extra point. Later in the fourth quarter, the Rabbits would have the ball with a chance to tie the game, but the Broncos would pick up a safety, giving them the ball and a two-possession lead with under two minutes to go to clinch the victory.
“We were able to come to Delta and get out with a hard fought win. Offense kept us in the game in the first half, and defense sealed the deal for us in the second half. Overall, total team effort to beat a scrappy Delta team.”

Beaver 56, Millard 6
Cobe Carter and Briiston Jessup both rushed for a pair of touchdowns and Statler Wright added a scoop-and-score touchdown in the first quarter as Beaver dominated Millard for the easy region victory.
“We had a great team effort tonight. Our defense came up big, not giving up a score and forcing turnovers that gave our offense great field position all game.”

South Sevier 48, Grand 0
South Sevier’s ground game was working as it score five TDs on the ground by five different players. Braxton Price and Seth Checketts each added a receiving score to go along with their rushing TD.
1A South
Parowan 41, North Sevier 7
Treven Yardley scored four touchdowns, including one on a 50-yard run in the third quarter as Parowan dominated their way to a win over North Sevier.
Enterprise 42, Gunnison Valley 7
Enterprise jumped all over Gunnison Valley, building a 28-0 halftime lead on its way to the easy region win. Jeddy Crittenden rushed for a pair of scores for the Wolves while fourth other players scored a rushing score, too.
Kanab 27, Milford 14
Griffin Bone threw two touchdown passes for Kanab in its win over Milford. Travis Stewart capped off the win with a 60-yard interception return for a touchdown, his second score of the game.
“Proud of our team for getting a big win against a good team on the road. Senior captain Saxton Unsworth has started in five positions for us this season, tonight he filled in at TE, and he never came off the field for a single play.”

North Summit 54, Monticello 20
Kale Hobson rushed for two scores and Tyler Hirzel added a rushing and receiving score as North Summit eased past visiting Monticello for the lopsided victory.

Duchesne 39, Layton Christian 15
Layton Christian led by nine points after the opening period, but Duchesne rallied back to outscore their opponent 33-0 the rest of the way to pick up the win. Parker Crum and Cade Gines each scored two rushing touchdowns in the game.
“We found ourselves down 15-6 early in the first quarter. Our kids knew it was a 48-minute game and stayed with the plan. We turned it over three times early and overcame those mistakes and created several turnovers on the defensive end. Branon Torgerson got a Pick 6 and another interception later in the game. Garett Fabrizio had three interceptions and made a few big plays on the offensive end as well. Big win for our program. Extremely proud of our players and coaches.”

Cottonwood 29, Jordan 21
Cottonwood turned it on in the second half to beat Jordan.

Weber 45, Olympus 6
Jake Lindsay passed for two touchdowns and then Logan Payne added a pair of rushing scores and 160 rushing yards as Weber cruised past visiting Olympus in the nonregion game. Stockton Short returned a punt for a touchdown late in the first half as the Warriors went to the locker room comfortably ahead 28-6. Cannon DeVries finished with six catches for 117 yards and two TDs.
