BRIGHTON — A man died Monday in a ski accident at Brighton Ski Resort, officials said.
About 1:30 p.m., the 63-year-old man was skiing around a bend when someone appeared in his path. As he tried to ski around the person, he lost control, went off the path and hit a tree, Unified Police Lt. Manfred Lassig said.
Ski patrol crews reached the man and tried to revive him, and then Unified firefighters arrived at the resort to help, but he succumbed to his injuries, Lassig said.
The man was with his family at the time of the accident, the lieutenant said.
His name was not immediately released but Lassig said he was a Utah resident.
