SALT LAKE CITY — An elderly woman was killed in a seven-car crash on U.S. Route 40 on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The woman’s car, along with about five others, was stopped on the highway when she was rear-ended by a pickup truck, according to Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Colton Freckleton.
It appears that the driver of the pickup truck did not realize the cars were stopped, Freckleton said.
The woman was found dead at the scene, Freckleton said.
The corporal said he did not know exactly where on U.S. Route 40 the crash occurred.
The crash is under investigation.
