Ogden man found dead near Willard Basin

SALT LAKE CITY — An Ogden man was found dead after a UTV crash in Box Elder County on Wednesday, according to police.

It was unclear, however, whether 57-year-old Brent Daily’s death was caused by the crash or by a medical issue, the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office said.

Daily reportedly left Ogden about 8 a.m. Tuesday morning and was said to be riding a UTV near the Willard Peak, the sheriff’s office said. He was reported missing Wednesday afternoon.

Daily had a medical condition that required “much needed medication,” according to the sheriff’s office.

A search and rescue aircrew found Daily in the Willard Basin area about 5 p.m. Wednesday. He was deceased when rescuers found him, the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators were unable to tell at the scene whether Daily’s death had been caused by the UTV crash itself or whether the cause of death was a medical issue that led to the crash.

Daily’s body was transported to the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of his death.
