West Valley business suffers heavy damage in late-night fire

WEST VALLEY CITY — Fire caused heavy damage to a West Valley business Monday night.

Firefighters were called to Advanced Fluid Systems, 3005 S. 3600 West, about 10:15 p.m.

The first arriving crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the large, metal warehouse structure and immediately went into a defensive attack, said Fire Battalion Chief Scott Hall. It took crews from multiple agencies about an hour to bring the fire under control, he said. No injuries were reported.

Advanced Fluid Systems advertises itself as a place for industrial pumps and pump repairs.

The cause of the fire was still being investigated, but Hall said preliminary information is the fire may have started in an office area. He said the building is likely a “total loss.”
