Even a massive snowstorm can’t stop the work of the Utah Legislature

Steve Griffin, Deseret News

Wind blows snow onto the stairs that enter the Capitol in Salt Lake City on Monday. A snowstorm that hit the area Monday snarled traffic and forced many businesses, schools and city offices to delay opening or stay closed for the day. According to a tweet from the Utah Senate, legislative committee meetings and floor time were delayed due to the weather. By noon Monday, Smithfield had 18 inches of new snow, Sandy had 17 inches, Cottonwood Heights had 16, and Bountiful had 13 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service. According to KSL’s Grant Weyman, Tuesday will be sunny but cold with highs in the mid-20s. More snow showers possible Wednesday, with snow likely Thursday. It will warm back to near 40 Saturday with more snow possible on Sunday.
