The Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation will receive some of the funds
The NBA and the NBA Players Association will honor Kobe Bryant by auctioning off the game-worn jerseys from the 2020 NBA All-Star Game.
What’s going on?
- The NBA All-Star Game included several tributes to Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna. The members of Team LeBron wore the No. 2 jerseys (Gianna’s jersey number was No. 2) and Team Giannis wore No. 24 jerseys (Kobe Bryant wore No. 24).
- The players will auction off their jerseys. The proceeds will be donated to Mamba on Three Fund and the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, which are both Kobe Bryant’s charity foundations.
- The NBA said: “To honor the life and legacy of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, the NBA and NBPA will donate all proceeds from the auction of game-worn Jordan Brand #NBAAllStar jerseys to the Mamba on Three Fund and the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation.”

More ways to celebrate:
- Kobe Bryant was honored at the All-Star Game in more ways than just the jerseys, according to People magazine.
- Jennifer Hudson and Common performed an emotional tribute to honor Kobe Bryant, Gianna and the seven other victims in the helicopter crash at the end of January (John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester, Christina Mauser and pilot Ara Zobayan also died).
