A man on a paddleboard glides on the water of Oquirrh Lake at Daybreak in South Jordan early Friday. On Saturday afternoon, the National Weather Service tweeted that Salt Lake City International Airport hit 100 degrees for the eighth time in August, a new record for triple-digit days for the month. Residents along the Wasatch Front can expect another scorcher on Sunday and Monday, with highs near triple digits again. Air quality will continue to be an issue with wildfire smoke blowing from all over the western United States. However, according to KSL meteorologist Dan Guthrie, there will be a chance of scattered storms at the end of the weekend and first half of next week, which will cool things down to the mid- and lower 90s.
