
2,110 new cases, 6 new deaths reported across state
SALT LAKE CITY — Hospitals in Utah are treating 382 patients with COVID-19, breaking yet another record with a high number of hospitalizations on Wednesday.
Another 2,110 new cases of COVID-19 were also reported by the Utah Department of Health, meaning the total number of infections in the state is 121,485 since mid-March.
There have been 625 deaths due to the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, including six new deaths reported on Wednesday.
The state has tested 1,111,986 people for the virus to date, with an increase of 6,559 people tested since Tuesday. The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 1,803 per day, with a seven-day rolling average for percent of positive lab tests now at 19.1%, the health department reports.
In addition, 1,657 cases in Utah schools, including 1,274 in students, have been reported in the past two weeks. The Davis School District has experienced the highest number of cases compared to other districts, though a handful of the larger districts are seeing numbers nearly as high, according to state health department data.

- Southeast Utah, 20.
- Wasatch County, 9.
- San Juan County, 2.
