
Utah has seen 231,821 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 1,038 total deaths as of Saturday, according to the Utah Department of Health. That’s an increase of 3,692 cases from Friday. Thirteen new deaths were reported.

- Total reported people tested: 1,565,554
- Total COVID-19 hospitalizations: 9,351
- Current COVID-19 hospitalizations: 544
- Total COVID-19 deaths: 1,038
- Single-day high for reported cases: 4,588 (Nov. 20)
- Single-day high for reported deaths: 26 (Nov. 25)
Recently
- On Friday — the day the United States gave approval for the nation’s first COVID-19 vaccine — the state provided new details for Utah’s vaccination plan. Hospital health care workers and caregivers and patients at long-term care facilities have priority.
- Utah marked a somber milestone as the state reported more than 1,000 lives have been lost to COVID-19 on Thursday. Even with a vaccine, that total is projected to double again in less than 10 weeks, to 2,000 deaths in the state.
- Utah health officials reported the state’s second-highest death toll Tuesday with 23 more fatalities.
Worldwide
Globally, the novel coronavirus pandemic has now infected 69,808,588 and killed 1,588,854 people as of Saturday, according to the World Health Organization.
