Utah health officials report 3,692 new COVID-19 cases, 13 deaths

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah health officials reported 3,692 new COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths Saturday.

The total reflects about 1,100 cases that would likely have been reported yesterday after analysis of data during the time in which the health department’s server was down Thursday night into Friday morning. The case count Friday was 2,183.

On Saturday, the rolling seven-day average for positive tests stood at 2,706 per day, and the average positive test rate is 25.8%. The total number of people tested is 1,565,554, an increase of 14,616 people from the day before.

Currently, 544 people are hospitalized with the virus. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak is 9,351.

A total of 1,038 Utahns have died from COVID-19, including eight more men and five more women reported Saturday.

  • Female, between 65 and 84, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized at time of death.
  • Male, older than 85, Uintah County resident, long-term care facility resident.
