Brave souls greet new year with dip in Salem Lake

People charge into the 44 degree Salem Lake during the sixth annual Pond Town Polar Plunge in Salem on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021. Jefferson Chase, organizer of the event said “the purpose of the Pond Town Polar Plunge is to encourage each other to do something challenging, something we can look forward to during the new year.”
