Daniel Sorensen and the Kansas City Chiefs came up on the wrong end of a lopsided loss in Super Bowl LV, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won 31-9 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
The defeat prevented the former BYU safety from earning a second straight Super Bowl ring, as Tom Brady led the Bucs to scores on five of six possessions to build an insurmountable lead.
Sorensen was the lone Utah tie to play in Sunday night’s game, and he had a relatively quiet night in the Chiefs secondary. Sorensen finished the game with six tackles, including three solo stops.
“I think football in general, especially this game, comes down to discipline,” Sorensen said. “We found ourselves in some tough situations.”
Former Utah State running back Darwin Thompson was inactive for the game. Former Layton High wide receiver Marcus Kemp was called up from the practice squad to the active roster, but he did not record a stat.
