Allen was the Utes’ most valuable player this past season and the team’s only player to earn all-conference honors
Another Utah basketball player is reportedly entering the transfer portal, and this one is the most notable yet.
According to the official Twitter account of Compton Magic, an AAU program based out of Compton, California, Timmy Allen has entered the portal.

A first-team All-Pac-12 honoree this season, Allen played for Compton Magic for three years prior to his time at Utah.
The junior from Mesa, Arizona, was the only player in the Pac-12 this year to rank in the top 10 in three major statistical categories — scoring, rebounding and assists — and was far and away the Utes’ most important player.
“I have never coached anybody that wants to compete more, and wants to be on the court more, than (Allen),” now former Utah head coach Former Utah head coach Larry Krystkowiak told the Deseret News earlier this month. “This is a kid that has had some nagging injuries the last couple of weeks. He has been playing with a wrist (injury) and a foot (injury) and some things, and some guys want to take the time off to get their body ready. Not Timmy.”
Allen averaged 17.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists this season, while shooting 46.5% from the field. Over the course his Utah career, three seasons in total, Allen started 82 games, scored 1,323 points, grabbed 534 rebounds and handed out 261 assists.
Allen is the fifth Ute to enter the transfer portal this season, following Riley Battin, Lahat Thioune, Jordan Kellier and Brendan Wenzel.
