On Friday, Mitchell’s sprained right ankle was reevaluated by the Jazz medical staff, and while he continues to make progress toward a return it was determined that the Jazz’s All-Star guard would remain out and be reevaluated in one week.

Mitchell sustained the injury on April 16 in a win over the Indiana Pacers and has missed 11 consecutive games. Mitchell will be reevaluated on May 14 when the Jazz are slated to visit the Oklahoma City Thunder before they play their final game on May 16 on the road against the Sacramento Kings.

Before sustaining the ankle injury, Mitchell was averaging career highs of 26.4 points, 5.2 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game. Since April 16 Bojan Bogdanovic has led the Jazz in scoring with 19.3 points per game.

The NBA play-in tournament begins on May 18, and the NBA playoffs begin on May 22.
