Jordan Martinez and Ezies Landa both recorded two goals and an assist as RSL Academy rolled past Wasatch Academy for the 2A quarterfinal victory. Five other Griffins players notched one goal to lead their team into the semifinals.
Waterford 1. Draper APA 0
David Paul’s goal in the second half helped No. 5 Waterford punch its ticket into the 2A semifinals with a shutout victory over No. 4 Draper APA on Saturday. Atticus Benson record the shutout in goal for the Ravens.
Rowland Hall 3, Beaver 0
Kelton Ferriter and Sam Francise both found the back of the net, and Anthony Sanchez recorded two assists as No. 6 seed Rowland Hall hit the road in the 2A quarterfinals to knock off No. 3 seed Beaver.
St. Joseph 2, Layton Christian 1
Armando Escobedo scored in the sixth minute and then Ozzy Escalona scored in the 50th minute, and St. Joseph’s defense made sure the lead held up as it prevailed in Saturday’s 2A quarterfinals. Layton Christian scored in the 78th minute to create a tense final couple minutes.
